It's kind of ironic that, as of the end of January, 2017, all of Mary's regular friends on the show, all except Valerie Harper (Who is over three years younger than Mary's) and Ted Knight (Who is the only one dead, other than Mary's), have outlived her!!!

Valerie Harper is still alive.

Nannette Fabray who played Mary's mother on the show is still alive. You have to realize severe type I diabetics rarely live to be old. The disease wreaks havoc with your body. It's a miracle MTM made 80 in all honesty.
