Lou's Second Date

In Season 4 where Lou and Rhoda go out on some dates is a cute one. While they were just friends hanging out for some laughs there seemed the potential for something romantic to possibly develop. This was VH's last appearance as Rhoda and I don't believe it was certain that she would be leaving MTMS to star in her own show yet. If RHODA had not premiered and VH had stayed on MTMS I wonder if this episode was testing the waters for a potential relationship or would this have been just a one-time story line never to be picked up on again?

Personally, I don't think the writers/producers were going to keep Lou and Rhoda together. I think that the "Lou's Second Date" episode was just a regular episode and not a "test".

I love this episode. My favorite thing about it was how totally natural it was that Lou and Rhoda would actually have gotten along. It's like they were good buddies just waiting to happen.

Lou: "And the heck of it is, I really like you."

Rhoda: "Awwww... and I really like you, too, Lou. Really."

Then the gentleman Lou extends a friendly hand and good hearted Rhoda reaches over and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

This was MILES ahead of when Lou Dated Mary...which was a horrible episode.
