I'm actually disappointed with the show. I never saw it as a kid although I did occasionally read the J&P comic books. First, I don't care for the fact that they've made Josie a very supporting character on her own series then I just don't like this Scooby Dooesque format of comedy/mystery which gets tiresome pretty fast, I wish it had been like the comic book and more Archieish.
My favorite character is Melody but I don't care for Jackie Joseph's performance on the show; Melody is a dumb blonde but Jackie plays her as a really stupid blonde, a loud dingbat more Judy Holliday or Suzanne Somers than the softer, innocent types like Marilyn Monroe or Marie Wilson that I was envisioned Melody being in the tradition of. I wonder why Hanna-Barbera didn't offer this part to Marie Wilson considering they did sign her the following year for a different cartoon series, WHERE'S HUDDLES?
