now listen here I'm not saying it shouldnt have been nommd for best director. In fact it got snubbed for art direction and quite a few others. but this is just so out there, especially for 1969, did close minded people in america look at this and really think oho that's cool XD dam is the academy weird good film though dont get me wrong

in many ways America was at its most open minded in 1969. we're more racially tolerant now, but in matters of the arts, religion, and freedom of expression we moved backwards
