A lot of people like to look at Fellini's Satyricon without subtitles.

They're called Italians.

reply

I have the dvd and usually I just play with no subtitles, I like the way Italian sounds :)

reply

I'll go even further.. No subtitles and no sound. I friggen hate that audio.

Yes, it's practically impossible to truly admire the visual splendor of this film with subtitles. There are so many things happening! I watched it with the English dubbing on my DVD.

reply

I like to watch it with no sound and no picture!
There are so many things happening, none of which am I bound to imagine one way or another...

I know I am late.
But I am just getting into art films.
This is really funny.

reply

yeah, it makes as much sense to me in english as it does in italian. Can't be bothered with subtitles in Fellini movies.

reply

hell yeah

reply

There is also lot of latin speak in it who is really not supposed to be understood by anyone.

reply

I have the English version but either the sound quality on the DVD, or more likely the computer, was so poor I couldn't follow it without the subtitles.

reply

i saw Death Wish with french audio and no subtitles...that was an awesome experience...

99999999999999% agree

reply

It doesn't matter in what language you watch Fellini's movies. They have their audio recorded in post-production and sound frustratingly factitious in every language.

reply

That's what I'm doing now as the subtitles on the Criterion disc quit after about 10 minutes.😵
