Favourite movie of mine

I remember watching this movie as a kid in the eighties and loving it. I recently watched it again from the DVD version with my family and while they initially balked at the thought when they started watching it they all enjoyed it. I thought and still think Lee Marvin does a great comedic turn in this movie and there are some great lines and scenes.

I also loved the way the intermission is kept on the DVD version and explaining to the kids how there used to be a break in the middle of the film at the cinema when you bought ice lollies from a lady with a tray instead of a having a shop.

Its sad to think that lots of the folks in the picture are
dead now but I am glad Clint Eastwood is still alive and making movies. I remember watching loads of his movies as a kid with my dad, he still makes pretty god movies.

Anyway reminiscences over time to taxi again :)

Peace out

It's also a favourite of mine - I still have the movie program.

Yep, in the olden days you could buy a souvenir program at the cinema - mine is 36 pages in letter size with plenty of info and colour photos.

I've seen Harve Presnell inlater years, but I never realised he was the hottie from Paint Your Wagon.

Also, since I saw the movie, when Clint Eastwood would play a tough guy, I would always think "Yeah, but you also sing and talk to trees" ;-)

Mine too! It was and is still massively underrated. It's just a great ride, I really want a Blu-Ray of this - with the 4 minute interlude AND the full song after the end credits just like the DVD had.

Yes, one of my all-time favorites. I come back to it every few years and always notice new things. The story has so many parts. It's almost like a little mini-series.
