The line that always gets me

when Jim and Tennesee try to convince Mr Wu not to sell Herbie, So Tennesee tells Jim that he can speak Mr Wu's language and when Jim tells Tennesee to tell Mr Wu that he can keep the money and Jim can keep Mr Wu.

and just when Tennesee is about to translate that to Mr Wu in Chinese and Mr Wu then pulls out that classic line '' now your speaking my language''

"when Jim and Tennesee try to convince Mr Wu not to sell Herbie, So Tennesee tells Jim that he can speak Mr Wu's language and when Jim tells Tennesee to tell Mr Wu that he can keep the money and Jim can keep Mr Wu."

About that last line, I think you meant Mr. Wu can keep the money and Jim can keep Herbie.

reply

yeah thats what I meant but did Jim mean that

Let me see if I can straighten this out:

Mr. Wu speaks Japanese. Jim does not, but Tennessee is fluent in the language, and after their exchange, what they all agreed on was this: Mr. Wu wanted to keep the car, but he had to let Jim drive it in the El Dorado race, now if Jim won, Mr. Wu would get to keep the prize money but would have to sell Herbie back to Jim for a buck. To which Wu responds in plain English, "now you speak my language."

reply

Mr. Wu speaks Chinese.

reply

japanese not chinese

reply

Tennesee speaking Chinese used to have my brothers and me crying with laughter.

Don't vote, it only encourages the bastards.

reply
