Why Three Weeks?

After the crash scene the astronaut is interrogated and they keep asking him why the trip only took three weeks wondering if he had turned the ship around and headed back home?

Was that because both astronauts had landed on both Earths in 3 weeks or did I miss something?

Surely a medical exam of both men would have shown the reversed organs and stuff on both planets? That really bugs me still.

The trip should have taken 6 weeks, three weeks each way.

Not sure if organs are reversed on people on the alternate Earth if not it was an obvious plot hole.

Well if the astronaut from the other earth landed on our Earth his organs would have been reversed compared to ours...

Anyway the whole reversed organs, reversed writing was not needed to sell the story. It just made it very silly. Or sillier depending on how you feel.
