the kid who you can easily spot because he towers over every one else in the movie is tommy tune, playing ambrose kemper. he was recently in dr doolittle traveling for the broadway series. i got to actually meet him and i got my pic taken w/ him. he's really nice, and really, really old old. he was born in the 1930s, but acts like he's not that old.
I'm currently working the same show. He's an interesting guy. I think he's strangely lovely. He's also great at what he does. A fantastic actor, and the kids just adore him. Dr. D was fun show to work really.
define interesting for me please. like good interesting or weird interesting. in my little world it would automatically be good because i have such respect for him. when i met him, i could be identified because i was the one who could not stop boucing in line, a curse of adrenaline.
Hah. No, no. It was -good- interesting. I had a complete blast getting to know the people on the cast/crew. Everyone was fun, and great to talk to. Tommy Tune also had us go out on stage after every show's curtain call, which was fantastic. He seems to be a really nice person. I would see him after the shows hugging people he knew on the tour, and such. He also certainly knows what he's doing. A fantastic showman always does.
You can definently tell he knows what he is doing, you can see it from anywhere in the audience, no matter where you are seated. you don't even need to use the binouculars, you can just...see it.
...and the angel of music sing sings in my head...
by the way, you said that you were working the same show...who did you play??? no need to answer, i was just curious.
that's cool. even being close to the stage is wonderful for me! i love the experience. when i first came to the school that i just left, i wanted to be in drama, but i came halfway during the year, so i got to work backstage, i helped my friends with costumes and i got to pull the curtain:) and i even helped a little with the sets. it was so fun. then this year, we did guys and dolls. I was going to try for adelaide but instead i got general cartwright. the girl who played sarah couldn't really sing, she only recieved it because she takes sdinging lessons with the drama teacher- and i'd better stop there. i'm ranting again. But the girl weho played adelaide was really good at it, considering she's so much like the part. But it was fun over all.
thanks. this year, at my new school, we will be doing Oklahoma! and i've never auditioned infront of an audience before, but i'm really excited about it and i can't wait.
i heard in a documentary that at least 2 performances of oklahoma are shown per day, proffesional and ameture (spelling?). I can't wait for auditions, which unfortunately aren't until november.
