The white church building at the end

My Mom and I believe that that church building was used in another movie, but we cannot place it... can anyone help us?

this question was answered in an earlier post:

I quote carly 7/1:

"the church scene was shot at West Point, the scenes of "Yonkers" were shot in Garrison, (my home town). The scene at Vandergelder's store are interesting because the place portrayed as the basement was actually the first floor of the building, and the store was actually the second floor."

You are from Garrison? Is it still as pretty? I remember visiting in the late 70's and early 80's and thought it was charming.

Actually I think Carly is mistaken, if I am thinking of the same church scene (It's been a while since I've seen it). The scene I am thinking of was a little white church on a little mountaintop overlooking the river. If that is the scene you are talking about, that was shot in Cold Spring, which is just north of Garrison, and not at West Point. And yes, I believe it was shot in another movie, but I do not remember the title. I grew up in Cold Spring and was present at the filming of it. It was a very exciting time for us!

The wedding church at the end of the movie was a facade built on Trophy Point at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. It was torn down after the scene was filmed, and therefore unlikely to have appeared in another movie.

We got a similar feeling from the White church building at the end of Elvis' movie.. Paradise, Hawaiian Style (Been a long time.. I *think* that was the one that ended with a shot of a white church building)...

Since creating this thread, I have found that the church building that I loved did not exist outside of a studio lot.
Very disappointing.
