Did anyone here ever see DOLLY on the big screen?

It was released when I was 6, so I didn't have the ability to go to NYC by myself to see it at the Rivoli, where it played its Roadshow NY premiere (LOL). I first saw it when it came on television in '74.

Does anyone here recall seeing it in the movies? It must have been beautiful!

I was only seven so I don't think so. If I was a bit older, then yeah probably would have with my mom.

I was lucky enough to see this last weekend (March 2012) at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring, MD, in all its 70mm Todd-AO glory and 6 track stereo sound, and all I can say is WOW.

The clarity was STUNNING, the sound incredible, and Harry Stradling's gorgeous color photography a feast for the eyes. Seeing those costumes and sets in such meticulous detail on the big screen, along with such beautiful color and enveloping sound was truly an almost overwhelming experience.

This print is SO good, it looked like the quality that would've been used for the premiere back in 1969.

If you're a fan of this film, do yourself a favor and see a 70mm print of it in a state of the art theater if you can. I would pay to go and see it again.
