Sequel! 37 A.C. (After Colossus)

I've always thought that this movie desparately needs a sequel. Given how it ends and what Colossus was planning, what would the world look like today 37 years later? Just imagine it. Get moving Hollywood!

Given that most of the cast is alive and still active in film or TV today, I think this could be a great idea. Imagine an older Dr. Forbin and Dr. Markham, living under the yoke of Colossus and suddenly getting an opportunity to free the world, along with all the complications of reintroducing war and disorder. If done right (alays a big IF) it could be good.

A sequel would be cool, but won't happen. Among other problems, the original did poorly at the time and, even though it's well respected by those who know it, I don't think it has THAT much of a following among SciFi fans. Should, though.

A book sequel WAS written, and I own it. It's called the Fall of Colossus, and takes place directly after Colossus: The Forbin Project. I won't bother giving details about the book in case someone wanted to read it first, but to cut to the chase (book review-wise), the backstory to the book was GREAT, but what the human characters in the book went through (experiments on them by Colossus) was just plain silly, in my opinion.
There is another message board thread here regarding "was Colossus' motives all that bad" or something like that, and in this book, that question is addressed. In fact, when you read the ending, EVERYTHING is turned around in your mind!
If anyone wants more details, I will supply them. I just checked ebay and it's available in many ebay stores pretty cheap, so some people might want to check it out.
As far as this book being a worthy sequel to the original movie, it would work well with some re-writing, some added scenes and some cool special effects.

Actually, there is a third book in the Colossus trilogy, Colossus and the Crab, which picks up where The Fall of Colossus left off. Stupid name, but a good story.

Two and a half word that mean oh so much:

Please don't.

Needlss to say, the film would portray a vastly different history from 1970 to the present day, in effect, an alternate timeline in which Colossus has ruled the world for the last 30+ plus years. This is called a "What if?" scenario. That was the whole idea behind this thread.
DUH!
