Inspiration for Neuromancer?

I watched this movie for the first time tonight and loved it. I was thinking of William Gibson's novel, Neuromancer, while watching. In the book one of the major plot points was the linking of two different AI computers (Wintermute and Neuromancer). It seems the linking of Colossus and Gaurdian was a lot like that. So I am wondering if Gibson got his idea for that from this movie.

I've always thought it was the inspiration for SkyNet in the Terminator films but it's possible Gibson had it in mind when writing Neuromancer as well.
