Castle Keep 'planted seed' in Amityville murders

gleamed form castle of spirits describing the lead up to Ronald DeFeo Jr.'s massacre

"the last movie he watched was WWII movie "Castle Keep" which may have planted a seed in his mind. Probably under the influence of heroin, his drug of choice, he grabbed his .35 caliber Marlin rifle and wiped his family out with eight squeezes of the trigger."

Yeah but thank God he had that rifle because he might have needed it to shoot criminmals or terrorists.

I don't believe that....(I mean about it influencing him); you could look at every movie that a murderer saw before he murdered somebody and find a 'link'; if manson had seen 'sound of music' before the tate-labianca musrders, I guess you could say the same thing- that kid was screwed up from drugs and an abusive father, not a movie.
Besides, I found this movie uplifting and basically good....the soldiers sacrifice themselves for the sake of the inspiration that creates art, represented by the countess.
In fact ALL of the characters are symbols. Even the castle is.
The commander represents the life force, that's why he sleeps with the countess....he also represents the male 'anatomy', which is why he has one EYE.
