Bergman vs Hawn

Goldie was very cute but Bergman (despite the dowdy costumes they had her wear; even the blue dress she wore at the club was ill fitting) was still beautiful.

Walter Matthau's face was best described in Grumpier Old Men when his future mother-in-law says "He has the face of a mackeral!"

This positively infantile preoccupation with bosoms!Terry-Thomas about US 1963.Hasnt changed much!

Not only was Bergman more beautiful, her character had depth, nuance and sophistication lacking in Hawn's character – and Matthau's, come to think of it. I think Dr. Winston wound up with the perfect partner.

I thought the same. Bergman was just luminous and lovely.
