The nude scene (naked except for panties) was filmed for release in Europe. For the American version she wore additional clothing. As I have forgotten the American version of this scene I am unable to provide further details.

And the nude scene works, it's not just gratuitous, due to Bonnie Bedelia's facial expression of heartbreaking vulnerability & loneliness.
In the TV release she has on a thin, wet floral blouse, but the lens only captures the top of her cleavage ... which was impressive in the scene.
