A New Telly

Just been watching this episode on ITV3 and found it quite educational as well as entertaining. Stan gets his Christmas bonus and he intends to get a colour TV to replace the old B & W one which had a worn tube, the symptoms of which is a very washed out picture- this costs a lot apparently- £12 in 1971! Jack changed the voltage (or similar) making the picture look good for only a short time. They flog it to Blakey, and it soon blows up causing an accident leaving him bedridden. Near the end Stan and Jack get him a new telly (to avoid him suing them) and try it out at Blakey's house and end up watching a Football match, drinking his beer and smoking his cigars... Then unbelievably my old telly's tube went... It's 12 years old and I've had it 8 years, used it almost daily, been through 3 remotes and it always had a great picture for its time. Just had to mention this! Don't believe in the supernatural or whatever, but it's a big coincidence for this to happen on watching an episode of a show whose subject matter is about a faulty TV!
