Stella Stevens
This dame has got to be embarrased about this role. I am cringing just thinking about how silly she came across. I was really disappointed in this film. Even Ros. Russell couldn't save it. Grade: d-

Hey, the OP has a point. The script was lousy, but think of how much better it would have been if Hayley Mills had played the rebellious nun as originally intended. Stella Stevens was a huge reason the movie didn't work - she is miscast as Sister George, who comes across as way too high-strung, temperamental, and cold. It's hard to believe the students would relate to her, even though she is close to their age.
shareLet's face it, I think after seeing The Trouble With Angels, we were expecting more of the same in the sequel. I don't think it's so much that Stella Stevens did a bad job, but Hayley Mills did such a great job and again, we were expecting more of the same. I personally think there shouldn't have been a so-called sequel. I watched it, and own it but I enjoyed the scenery most of all since I live in the vicinity of the castle, amusement park and the roads in between. Considering what Stella Stevens had to work with (horrible script) and that fact that she may have felt some pressure to entertain us as much as Hayley did - she did a pretty good job!
shareI own up to never having seen "The Trouble With Angels" and, to judge from just about everyone else's input, this may well be why I absolutely loved Stella Stevens as the ever-positive and irrepressibly liberal Sister George. ( Of course, I also loved her in "The Poseidon Adventure" and "Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold" and this may have something to do with it as well. ) Be her role cheerfully benevolent, worldly-wiseacre, or venally villainous, she can pull it off. Where she goes - I'll follow!
shareI agree that the sequel stunk. The bedroom scene where the two teen girls forgive each other was so drawn out. Not to mention the same constant music interlude for every bus scene that predates any Disney '70s movie.
I miss Hayley Mills so much, but with the script that bad and that she didn't like Ruseell, I dont blame her.

I loved Stella in this movie and I adore the movie too,it's very easy to watch.Yes she has her moments when she dosen't understand what all the nuns contribute but for the most part I really liked her she knows things have to change and I don't think it's odd that the girls are drawn to her even if at times she's so close to them they don't seek comfort from her.
I think both of the Angel movies are great.I guess I'm one of the few who enjoy both.
Wait a minute... I never heard that Hayley Mills couldn't stand Roz Russel. Why did they not get along? What's the story, and how did you find out?
Could you elaborate, please?
I am the movies I love! (^_^)
Hear hear!
And to be quite honest - Stella Stevens is the ONLY reason I own or ever watched this movie. I'll literally watch her in anything thanks to her winning my affections in The Poseidon Adventure.
She's the greatest!
I thought Stella Stevens added some fun to this unnecessary sequel to The Trouble With Angels(1966). Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows(1968) is better than most sequels.
