How to get this movie to DVD?

As a child there were many movies I remember paying fifty cents to see, usually on a Saturday afternoon matinee at the Sunset Theatre in Lodi, Californina. One that has always stuck in my heart and mind is this wacky silly film staring (somewhat out or her regular character type) May Tyler Moore and George Peppard.

I have been waiting to see if it might be rediscovered and published on DVD.....but will it? Who owns it? How can I find out about this and possibly stimulate interest?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Folks!,

Add me to your list! i've been trying to get a copy of this film for years. No luck on AMAZON or EBAY. I see they do have some very poor DVD transfers on EBAY but talking to the people who bought them they are almost worthless.......very poor copies. Sooooooooo if anyone finds a decent copy pleazzzzzzzzzzzze let me know.

I loved this movie as a kid - - - with so many familiar names in the cast, I'd think its chances would be good for eventually being released on DVD. Mary Tyler Moore, George Peppard and Susan Saint James as hippies - what more could one ask for?

Don't hold your breath waiting for Universal to release this on DVD. There are some other George Peppard movies that were Universal pictures from around the same time period as "WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT FEELING GOOD?" and they have yet to materialize on video or DVD.

They are: P.J. (1968)
HOUSE OF CARDS (1968)
ONE MORE TRAIN TO ROB (1971)

MCA/Universal did release a couple of George Peppard movies that are not on DVD as of the date I'm typing this. Those are:

TOBRUK (1967) (also starring Rock Hudson)
and NEWMAN'S LAW (1974) (which has been out-of-print for years)

GROUNDSTAR CONSPIRACY, The (1972) was released on video from Universal and Anchor Bay along with a DVD release from Anchor Bay.

I have no idea why those 4 George Peppard movies aren't available but there's gotta be some reason we don't know about or they'd have been released by now. I mean, NEWMAN'S LAW is a decent movie but it's certainly not a movie many people remember offhand so you figure if Universal would release that on video back in '86 why not the others?

Some kinda legal issues, I'd bet.

Don't know exactly what, though. Bummer.

With that said, if you must have a copy of WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT FEELING GOOD? you can always call Robert @ Robert's Rare Videos in Canada toll-free 1-800-440-2960. That's where I got what I thought to be a decent copy of it. (He does not sell on Ebay, by the way).

I actually saw this movie on TV (in Australia) about 15-20 years ago and have been looking for it ever since.

This movie is definitely deserving of release on DVD. It is funny, charming, unique and clever in it's concept. Plus, the added bonus of a great line up of actors (definitely worth seeing Mary Tyler Moore in this role).
I loved it and so did my sons, who were quite young at the time.
It should be a cult classic. If it was released on DVD I'm sure it would become one.

I don't understand why studios do these things holding back fine films

You know there's a Mary Tyler Moore, George Peppard, Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's connection here as George and Audrey were of course in that film and
Mary did a Broadway musical of BAT (called either Holly or Holly Golightly) which tanked big time

The last time it was on tv, it was aired on Comedy Central. Maybe they could be persuaded to show it again, and it could be recorded. ioffer is also a good place to look.

I just sent an e-mail to Comedy Central and asked them to PLEASE run this movie again if possible.

Never mind DVD. From what I have gathered, it has never seen a video release in any format. Granted, this seems like the type of thing for the Universal Vault Collection, but don't hold your breath.
