Still the best looking guy I ever saw!!!!

Just saw The Thomas Crown Affair and still think Steve McQueen is the best looking guy I have ever seen, in movies or in the real world. And sexy too!!! What a shame he had to die so young.

Good looks may reside in the eye of the begolder, but he is surely one of the most charismatic of all movie stars, or of anyone, anytime.

He was in the navy and then a TV repairman before being discovered....a natural if there ever was one....proof that you can go a long way with a winning personality.

He was a credit to his country.

He probably would've lost his looks quickly. Kind of like Robert Redford.

True, dying young (well he was 50) he will always be remembered as the best looking guy in the movies.

McQueen was in the Marines, not the Navy.

Actually he was in both, he was in the merchant navy going to Santo Domingo and then drifting for a few years before doing his service in the marines.

He was in the U.S. Marines at 17. Did time in the Camp Lejuene brig for the unauthorized use of government equipment. Translation = he was working in the motor pool because he was always good with engines (see: Sand Pebbles, The Getaway, Bullit, etc) and stole an M-60 Tank and tore up the streets of Jacksonville N.C. - and he wasn't even drunk - just bored.

Pal, if you didn't get this right, I can't believe anything you say about McQueen being in the Merchant Marine. FYI, the Merchant Marine ain't the U.S. Navy, nor is the U.S. Navy the U.S. Marines.

McQueen was a U.S. Marine and he was proud of that fact.
