filming locations

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew more specifically where some parts of this were shot-

There is a scene right before the dune buggy ride where they are walking in the woods somewhere...I'm guessing it's someplace in Ipswich maybe...but who knows.

I've heard conflicting reports of where the glider scene was done, some say Beverly Airport, some say NH, and on here is says Essex County. Where the hell was it? I've tried studying the background, you can make out highways on the ground but I can't place them. Shows a closeup flyover of a small ranch house too.

Sorry but I'm a little OCD about this and it's driving me nuts! haha

Another thing- did anyone notice that the detective's Impala which gets rolled into the tree had original 67-68ish MA low-number plates on it? They're not fake plates. I thought that was kind of interesting, I wonder who has the number today.

You should read the book "Big Screen Boston" by Paul Sherman. It has a chapter on The Thomas Crown Affair. He mentions that the dune buggy scene is at Crane Beach in Ipswich.

My mother brought my sister in to try out as an extra on this film, she was about 12 years old the time. They said they would call her but they never did. I remember it because she had to get her a social security card, kids didn't have them back then. We lived about 25 miles sw of Boston and this was for filming in town.

I know it looks like I am answering myself here, but I forgot to mention that I am going to have my husband check the film out closely, he lived in Ipswich for twenty years. I'll get his opinion and repost.

The glider scene was filmed in Salem NH, where I live. The gliderport was turned into a golf course almost 20 years ago.
