the ending

did TC sell-out the dudes who made the 2nd robbery?it seems the cops picked them up at the cemeterey because he told Vicky.
Unless the bags they took there didnt have the money. But he told Vicky to come with the money,so the money must have been in the bags. That really sucks. Not cool at all.Since the cops know who he is by now,the dudes will know who sold them out. After they get out of prison i guess they will be looking to get him.

Oh, there was money in the bags all right. After all T.C. put Vicki on test, didn't he. If she really cared for him she would not have brought the Police Dept., along, would she?

Instead, she stayed true to herself and her principles, but she lost her man. Instead, all she got was ten per cent of the value of the money recovered. T.C. said take the money or take the car. If she had done the latter she would have become an accessory and could possibly have been charged, but she tore up the telegram. In other words Thomas Crown (and his ego) won all hands down.

You may remember that in an earlier scene he gave his lawyer 'power of attorney.' He probably lost the period mansion (with the elevator) but material things were not all that important to him.

As for the bagman who delivered the money to the cemetery, what did he know of T.C.? Just that he met someone in an hotel room. He would be charged, but he could not describe who the other accomplices were.

So Vicki got some nice meals, some exciting rides and her 10 p.c., but nothing more. Thomas Crown severed his links with Boston and went off to one of those foreign parts in South America or elsewhere that he mentioned. It was a neat, cynical ending, or am I wrong?

Incidentally, I have been listening to the Director's cut on the DVD. The script for the movie was written by a Boston lawyer, not a professional script writer. This is why the plot, in theory at least, makes sense.
