Kansas City Confidential

Just saw Kansas City Confidential and the plot is the same as this. The Thomas Crown Affair was inspired by this movie... a bank robbery where no one knows who is the other bank robber.
It is nice to see the first approach of the theme.

Too bad I just saw that this story wasn't taken from the Kansas City Confidential. There is no credit for the story nor it is the same writer.Or there isn't officially anything linkng them except it is the same story.

Cheers!

Not a bad catch, the technicalities of the two robberies are indeed peculiar and similar! However, in both cases, the robberies occur right in the beginning of their respective movie (which in itself is again a nice similarity), which leaves most of the movie to deal with the outcomes of the robberies, which are very different (different stories, different genres, different moods - even the robberies themselves have very different motivations).
Still, the two robberies are suspiciously similar - either TCA was inspired from this aspect of KCC, or they have a common source of inspiration, real or fictional.

Well, the basic set-up of the robbery is also pretty much the only thing these two movies have in common. Of course, the robbery in TTCA is depicted at a much greater length, much more elaborately, in more complex detail and as such, it´s also the only part that plays better than the stuff in Kansas City Confidential.
