So much better than the remake...
This is one of Steve McQueen's best films. It is so much better than the Brosnan remake (and I like Pierce Brosnan). But this is a "time capsule" film in that the style in which it was made is incredibly period specific. Younger viewers probably wouldn't appreciate those multi-panel shots or the sexual tension built up between McQueen and Dunnaway in the iconic "Chess game" scene, or McQueen's incredible dune buggy driving skills, but damn if you want to see the life of a young, high society bachelor bank robber circa 1968, this IS THE FILM.
