Ro may have been naive but...

...I did admire her attention to detail and her surroundings.

1. She saw the closet was behind the armoire? Well whatever they are called. Then inquired why would a simple closet be covered?
2. She spotted Mrs. Gardenia's note.
3. She spotted that the Castevet's took their pictures down and found that odd.
4. As she helped an extremely slow Minnie "do the dishes" she turned to where Guy and Roman sat. She knew something was up. Minnie assisted Roman's pitch by dragging her ass.
5. She knew the chocolate mousse wasn't quite right.
6. She was weary of the tannis root necklace.
7. She saw Roman's pierced ears.
8. She discovered Roman's true identity from a cryptic "the name is an anagram" death bed line? I would not have even thought to use Roman's name. Why did she? Because she already had reservations about him.

It was details like that which showed Ro had so much potential if Guy (the sorry SOB he was) had't suppressed her as a human being.

Loved it.

Wow. Enjoyed your perspective. It's ironic because your attention to detail helped you notice Ro's attention to detail.

You are correct that she was very clever in questioning things that surrounded her.She had given up on the anagram until she looked at the picture in the book where Hutch had underlined "Steven" twice. She may have recalled Hutch and his description of Roman as having "Pierced ears and piercing eyes!" The book is more detailed in regards to much of this especially allowing us to see more of Mrs. Gardenia's note. I think Polanski was right in the movie not to show more than he did.
