Party

Who was the girl who sang the Jewish type song?

reply

Jewish type song?
Claudine Longet plays guitar and sang a bossa-nova song called "nothing to lose" composed by Henry Mancini! You talk about that girl?

reply

There is not only the Bossa Nova song, which is a Brazilian style, but there is also the one that sings the russian(?) song. Is that the one you are talking about?

reply

Yes that russian (?) song remember a jewish style music!

If there were to be a remake of "The Party", the only actor I can think of in mind to play Hrundi V. Bakshi would be Rowan Atkinson. After seeing "Bean(the movie)", I think Rowan would be great if he played the klutzy goofball Hrundi. I hope the filmmakers would consider him.

reply

Why the hell you want a REMAKE? to mess up with this genious movie?

There will NEVER be an actor who wil equal Peter Sellers performance in "The Party". NEVER.

Rowan Atkins? let him stick to his "Mr Bean", that's all he can do this idiot.

reply

I'm not a big fan of Rowan Atkinson. The genius of Peter Sellers was his deadpan reactions to hilarious situations, either in The Party or Pink Panther films. I think if they were to do a remake, it would have to be made for tv... in which case i'd like to see French Stuart give it a try!
What do you think?

reply

a remake? you guys can't be serious -- even if there was somebody as genius as Pete Sellers that could pull it off (and there is not), how do you think Hollywood would be able to release a movie that pretty much pokes fun at Indians? Granted, everything works out in the end, but the picture painted is not that great ...

reply

hmmmm...

"the genius of Peter Sellers was his deadpan reactions" Eh?

Well, that's for sure.

But how about a remake with Buster Keaton ?

Genius!

reply

All works of Peter "Bakshi, Closeau, Gardener" Sellers are definitives. Any remake was similar to The sad Roberto Begnini's caricature made in the "Son Of The Pink Panther".
