Sorry I had them recorded from the telly many years ago, i think it was a program called "It will be alright on the night" they have outakes from loads of films but his were just soooo funny he just set everyone else off!!! I`ve just been looking for you to see if you can by a dvd on outakes or bloopers i think there sometimes known as... seems to be lots of reviews on outakes but nothing you can buy! sorry i could not be more help if i find anymore info i`ll post it here..thanks V.
shareWell that's allright. But I know what you mean about Sellers being a great giggler. I saw a few outtakes from the last three Pink Panthers. When I see those things I can't believe all the bad stories about Peter.
Did`nt realise although i remember reading once how he and spike milligan (also makes me laugh!) suffered from fits of depression! tell me more! thanks V
shareYes, well there are many stories in which people say he was the nicest man ever, and there are many stories in which people say he was the worst guy you've ever met. I think he was a very nice man, but even the nicest man can be a bit rough sometimes. When you take a look at the biographies out there. Life and Death of Peter Sellers...where should I start...this is practically murdering the man. Roger Lewis, who wrote the book, seems to know EVERYTHING there is to know, so I don't believe that book. There's also Mr. Strangelove, by Ed Sikov. This is a bit more sympathic but still not much, and I doubt the man knew Sellers. Then there is Graham Stark his Remembering Peter Sellers. Very sympathic and really gives you the feeling Sellers was a nice man. Add to that that Sellers and Stark were very good friends who knew each other well, and I think Stark's book is fairly honest. But that's my opinion.
Thanks so much for the info i think that i will read the Graham Stark book, i`ve decided i just don`t want to change my opinion of him too much...! thanks again have a good day V
shareThere are several biographies on Peter. I just can't get thru the Roger Lewis one and have Ed Sikov's on standby. Won't let myself start one without finishing the other. Have read one by Derek Evans [I think that's his name], Alexander Walker, Michael Sellers and the Graham Stark one was a matey one, well worth a read. It is written with affection for his friend. There may be others I don't know about. There are books about his films and other pictorials. All these can be found quite easily via the Net by typing in his name and looking in all the 'nooks and crannies' in different sites.
Happy reading and 'surfing'!
