I would say, stick it out through the first scenes, and wait until he gets to the Party itself. I can see why someone would think the start is boring, but truly, the rest of the movie is comedy gold. Absolutely hilarious.

'Birdie Num Num' and 'Get the Guitar' are my favourite lines.

I liked the first scenes best, actually: the business with the watch, the dynamite, the mistaken invitation and the extended business with the shoe. After that it started to get less interesting.
