where is the film set?

i recently saw witchfinder general and thought i heard the name of the village as 'Brandeston' in suffolk? as it was on TV, i couldnt be sure, it is just that my entire family live in Brandeston in suffolk, where all the "witchcraft" and "devilry" is taking place. if so, maybe i am a witch descendent??

Yes, it was Brandeston - Suffolk and north Essex is where the historical Matthew Hopkins operated.

Yes It is Suffolk , Ipswich and Lavenham in that County are also mentioned in the Movie. Much of the film was shot in Lavenham and Bury-St-Edmonds.

some of the film was shot at rushford college which is in east harling in norfolk.

The real Matthew Hopkins operated exclusively in Essex, though.
