Saw it when first released in Cinerama, was enthralled then, still am, it is my favorite film. Henry II, a great king of history, married to one of the great queens of English history, Eleanor of Aquitaine, married to both Henry & the King of France, was the father of two other kings of legends, Richard the Lionhearted and the infamous John of the Magna Carta. All played by great actors, either at the top of their game or the beginning of great careers. "What family doesn't have it's ups and downs?" Hell of a family, hell of a story, hell of a film.
shareIn complete agreement on all points - this film remains an outstanding classic, outstanding script, acting and direction, which can not be surpassed.
Hollywood nota bene - no remakes please!
