An unusual title considering the circumstances
The monsters actually save humanity from the aliens.
shareThe monsters actually save humanity from the aliens.
shareLike many kaiju films with titles more complex than 'Monster 1 vs. Monster 2,' the title went through several permutations when the film was released outside of Japan. Check the 'also known as' information link on the main imdb page for this movie, and you'll find it had seven different titles in English, alone. Some of the non-English titles even reference King Kong.
Sometimes these title changes are accidental or 'lost in translation,' and sometimes the foreign distributors would change the title because the literal translation wasn't 'punchy' enough, or they would re-write it to something they thought would attract more attention in their own countries.
I think the most infamous re-translation was a Godzilla film (can't recall just which one, at the moment) which was re-titled in Germany to 'Frankenstein vs. the Devil Monster.'
- You may have come on no bicycle, but that does not say that you know everything.
Ending Spoiler....Yes, and it leaves no explanation as to how the monsters got back on Monster Land. Was it of their own choice or by force as appears to be the case in the beginning. Since they did save humanity, was still any of the safeguards still in place so they can't leave the island or were they trusted now?
shareI think the monsters and humans lived happily side by side after this
shareThen why still have the safeguards against them escaping?
shareI tried reading the novel to get more information but it was in Japanese so I couldn't understand it.
shareI didn't know there was a novel the movie was based on. My comments have only been about the movie.
shareA classic like this movie is sure to have a novel. I just wished I could read Japanese
shareat the top right of your computer there should be a setting that, while you are on the Japanese page, allows you to change the language to your language.
shareI'll check when I get home but my computer was made in America so I don't think it will recognize anything from the Japanese language
shareMine was too and I can get onto a website that is from another language and it changes it to English.
shareBut I have the paperback novel of this movie and I'm trying to figure out how I can change the language of my computer and then transfer it to the book
shareLiar. You have no such thing.
"怪獣総進撃/Kaiju Soshingeki" was never novelized in Japan. They had a manga adaptation, but not a novelization.
If you can't read Japanese, how do you know it mentions this "safeguard" nonsense. Again, LIAR.
Link us a picture of the book or STFU.
The author was Ian Thorne and he wrote a Godzilla book. Its on Amazon now so you can check it out. I am not a liar
shareThe monsters went back to Monsterland of their own volition. There are no "safeguards" there now. The Fire Dragon destroyed the base on Monsterland and all of mankind's equipment that was there. The whole point of the ending is that man and monster are now at peace with one another now that man has left the monsters to their own devices. It's not about "trust" or some such. It's just that's where the monsters live and man are leaving them alone now.
