how depressin'
I love babs, soup to nuts, but this movie is really sad. I love the character of fanny brice, but i like to stop the movie after they get married. it's all downhill after that.

sharei agree. it seems like they were married for a few months and then they got a divorce.
sharethanks for giving away the ending, BUG EYES. Why don't you keep yer rhinestone glasses on and take a hike. some of us here like to read about movies ahead of time without gettin spoilers thrown in our face.
shareOh, poo-nana. I forgot. Sorry, but that's kind of known about the relationship, so not really a spoiler.
shareIf you stop the movie after the wedding you miss the best song in the whole movie, "My Man"...Doesn't it just give you the chills??!!!!! Heartbreaking, but wonderful!!!! I LOVE Barbra Streisand's voice!!!!

Yes, you're absolutely right. That was my first memory of Barbra really making me cry...but that is why I have to stop it too. Tell me, are you fond of funny lady?

I think anyone who watches this movie carefully and watches the development of the relationship between Fanny and Nick will see that the marriage is not going to last. Even though he says the words, I don't think Nick (according to this film anyway) was ever really in love with Fanny and she pretty much shoved him into marriage. And yes, Streisand's rendition of "My Man" is electrifying!!!
share'my man' is the last song she sang at the end right?
"I dont chase anyone who wont chase me back....BB"
Yes.
shareDepressing, but truthful. The real Brice was every bit the romantic idiot her movie chracter was or more so. It's hard for a man to understand how stupid a woman can be in matters of love, but this movie gave as much insight into that tragic reality as any I've seen. Still depressing tho.
What say there, Fussy Britches? Feel like talking?
