So, if this isn't the 1960s....?

I was just watching this movie and noticed how many things seemed very 1960s (ie Streisand's hair), but when is this supposed to be taking place? I sorta got the feeling of the 1920s with the Follies but I don't know much about the real Fanny Brice so I wasn't sure.

THANK YOU! I too, was really distracted by Streisand's ridiculously 1960's hair and make-up. Why didn't they opt for styles that would have truly represented the period when this was supposed to take place? Because it would have upset the premiere Diva herself?

I love this film and love the outfiths and her hair in it but I had the same problem as you. It was very hard to know when this was supposed to take place. Sometimes it looked like early 1900, 20s, 30s and sometimes the 60s but she looked like the same age al the time.

I just watched the bride number and was really distracted by the 1960s false eyelashes, big hair, and short skirts. I loved this movie when I was a kid, but now it seems really bad. I wish I hadn't revisited it and had kept my warm nostalgic memories intact.
