I was born in the house my father built
I believe it was the inspiration for the show.
Unlike Coogan however, McCloud was shown to be able to adapt his unique skill set to assist him in his investigations in the Big Smoke.
This never happens in Coogan's Bluff to its detriment. At one stage he babbles about small animal behaviour in McElroy's office. That's it. Oh yeah! He wears a cowboy hat.
