She's Native American, was very nice to all of us, and fit in with the progressive faculty members and their new teaching methods.
She's billed in the imdb credits listing as Brandy Carroll. Adopting a professional name isn't at all unusual, but this is her only credit listed.
I'd guess playing a corpse isn't as easy as it might look, especially one on which the camera lingers from two different angles. She was certainly posed artfully.

I remember being doubtful, and telling her, that I didn't see her when I had watched the movie (of course not, her scene was too gory for the TV edit in the early '70's and I think the victim was also nude) it was years and years later, when I saw the scene, IT WAS HER! and I've only seen it that one time.

I found the film on a...well, let's just say I found it yesterday and REALLY watched it for the first time ever.
I think, my interest was lost on watching it a few times on TV in the early '70s, a massively edited version, or versions to say the least. And I think that one time seeing the actual theatrical release was on cable TV, Bravo I think, c.1994-95
It really is a masterpiece, and one could argue, that it kicked off S.F.P.D in both movies and television.
Ironside, the Dirty Harry franchise, Freebie And The Bean Streets Of San Francisco,The Laughing Policeman, McMillan & Wife, Nash Bridges etc.

Unfortunately "the progressive faculty members and their new teaching methods" that started in the 1960s are the reason that many public school students in the U.S. can't read and write at the level they should be able to, if at all.
shareI was all hyped for the car chase, but when I finally saw it, I was left feeling unimpressed. Steve was the only good thing about this film for me. I totally get the theme of a corrupt government, but it felt like there was something missing.
shareIt was a vehicle for him (pun intended) so the plot is not so exciting, particularly by today's crime/mystery standards.

I saw it on release in Christmas week 1968(I was a pre-teen) and what I do remember was that the line was very long, the theater lobby was so crowded you couldn't move, the gigantic old Palace Theater it was being shown in was filled to the last seat -- and the audience went NUTS for the car chase.
It was an event, a big night at the movies rather than just a sleepy few-people-in-the-theater matinee.
And it played for months and months there. One theater. Not a multiplex.

shareI agree. I actually like this film a lot, but aside from the famous car chase, I never remember much about it. So, it’s like watching a new movie all over again. And enjoying it like the first time all over again.
