There doesn't seem to be any activity here, but I am trying anyway,
What were they supposed to be? No guns or badges, so not cops. And no authority to arrest, so what were they?
They were the network's attempt at being "relevant." Believe it or not, these fantasy non-cops were supposed to be a slice of reality dealing with important issues. Back then, instead of "woke," everything was supposed to be "relevant."
Moronic, actually, but since the 60's kids were more like the Eloi than anything else, it's about what you'd expect.
