I watched Mr. Rogers back in the early 1980's, so it's been a while! I have picked up one DVD and have another one coming - so glad they are available! One episode I seem to remember was when Mr. Rogers went to visit a hospital and he metions that Bob Dog is in the hospital and he was going to a hospital to show us what they are like. I can't remember the title or what year it was.
The episode where Bob Dog goes to the hospital is Part 1 of "Play" #1486. He fell off a ladder when retreving a ball from the top of X's tree. But I don't recall Mr. Rogers visiting a hospital afterwards. I do know we saw film of children at the hospital in Part 2 of "Creativity" #1502 after Queen Sara fell off Grandpere's Tower and sprained her arm.
In the first box, type "Mister Rogers", and in the 2nd box, type either a keyword or episode number.
If I type "hospital" in the 2nd box, the following episodes come up, in addition to several specials:
1119, 1156, 1486, 1502, 1674, and 1718
If you click on an episode, and then click on "detailed info" to get a summary of the episode. That can help you figure out which episode you are thinking of.
In the 1980s, they were still airing episodes as old as 1970. I have been told that until 1983-84 they were even airing the 1969 episodes but I personally have no recollection of ever seeing any of the 1969 episodes.
Yes, but it is understandable that even fewer people have seen the 1968 episodes. They were black and white, and as far as I know, never aired again after 1968. From what I've heard, there were 26 weeks of black and white episodes, but the 1969 season premiere was 51 weeks after the 1968 season premiere, so that means that there was 1 week of black and white episodes that only aired once. Does anyone know what week it was?
I'm just assuming they did since they were the last 1968 episodes made, and you'll notice that towards the end of any TV season, the show has changed somewhat since the beginning of the season and they pick up from there at the start of the new season.
