My Childhood Favorite

Mr. Rogers was probably my child favorite of all childrens shows. Its sad to know that he passed on, just a short time ago. I recall the episode where one of his fish died. I almost forgot about that, until I was reminded about when I was watching a PBS special on his life.

Don't steal, the government doesn't like the competition.

Yeah, I love this and Sesame Street. They're great shows that every child should be exposed to.

Music soothes the savage beast...unless it's polka.

I really love this show, its a classic, when i was younger i ALWAYS loved the intro song-ish-skit-thing.
he is SO missed, but at least he lived a long live, yea?

Indeed, this episode and the "Sesame Street" episode, "I'll Miss You, Mr. Hooper," are the greatest episodes ever to explain death to children.

I loved Mr. Rodgers. I never stopped watching it after school and in the summer, and no matter how old I got, I never felt silly or stupid just because everyone said it was a "kid's show". I grew up with him showing me how things worked, and all kinds of things.

Sesame Street, not so much. Only the original. Not the new computered stuff. Kermit and Miss Piggy and such. They were the classics.

Yes, those two episodes helped me cope with when my grandmother died when I was 5. He meant a lot to everyone. Yeah, he was a Christian, and I am as well, but when I was little, I had no idea of any of that. I only learned that he was about half a year before his death. It amazed me because he never "pushed religion" or anything. He didn't get down to a kid's level and act like Barney, rather, he brought them up to a level with him, and I think everyone respected him all the more for that.
