Trolly
WHere does the trolly go and stop at mr.roger's house.
shareIn the mid- or late-1980s, Model Railroader magazine ran a two-page story on the trolley that was added for the opening and ending credits of the show.
What makes me cringe now is when I see Mr. Rogers running the trolley in his living room. The power was going through the knob that varies the voltage to speed up and slow down the trolley. The direction was controlled from a toggle switch (probably a double pole double throw with center off) that would reverse the polarity (direction motor ran). Rather than slow the trolley to a stop to reverse the direction, he always just flipped the switch, which could easily damage the motor, gears, etc.
So what if he played with it a little? That's what it was for-- and besides, moving back and forth was how the trolley "talked" to everyone.
And they probably took care of that thing like it was family. It was part of the show; they wouldn't have done anything terrible to it.
"That's enough to make me LOL...out loud."
