Creepy Episode (help me identify it!)

When I was around...oh, who knows, but young...there was this episode of Mr. Rogers that totally creeped me out. I've been trying to identify it for a while (using Google and such), but with no luck. I know there are hundreds of episodes, but maybe one of you guys will remember this.

So I vaguely remember the crew in puppet land talking about "someone coming". I just recall that the puppets and company were expecting someone (I may be remembering this all wrong, though, so ignore it if it doesn't spark a memory).

The part I do clearly remember was when it arrived.

The characters look up into the skies of the puppet kingdom and see a chair floating down from far above. Glowing lights are attached to this odd looking chair (they may have been blinking). In the descending chair is a figure, a humanoid puppet, but my images of him are pretty vague.

The smallish figure and chair kept descending are the creepiest music played (which I think contributed to my fear). He may or may not have been making odd sounds. I don't remember anything else, I may have turned the TV off.

Again, some of these details may be incorrect, but I know I have the general idea right.

Anyone remember?

Oh yes. That's Yo-Yo LaBelle. The episode you're thinking of is #1589 from the week of "Nighttime."

Oh thank you, thank you. That's it!

Now I'm going to try to find a picture or clip.

Thanks again!

You could just wait for it to air on PBS again.

Yeah, and the thing mumbles in a weird whiney voice that only Daniel(The ANNOYING SISSY WHIMP!!!!)Striped Tiger could understand.Well, at least Daniel was good for something.

I remember this episode and also being very creeped out by it. The puppet made a noise that sounded something like "mee-vee" over and over.

Yeah, I remember being creeped by it as well. I remember it speaking, "mee-thee," slowly and then quickly over and over. "Mee-thee, me-thee, me-thee." Yeah, not the best story Fred came up with.

If I remember correctly, we learned his name was Yo-Yo LaBelle after Yo-Yo Ma had appeared on that episode (or at least that week of episodes).

This thread is EXACTLY why I came to the board today! I don't know what Fred was thinking. It scared the crap out of me as a boy. Now I'm 22 but some friends and I were talking kid's shows the other day. We mentioned Mr Rogers and I brought up the alien episode. One of my friends hadn't seen that one, one had and liked it, but his sister shared my opinion. It always creeped her out.

I looked on YouTube and have been searching for Mr Rogers & Alien etc... to no luck. If I find something, I'll edit it into this post.

EDIT: Found his arrival! 6 minutes into this video. Still creepy: http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/educational_and_howto/watch /v19067765fhXrmNgt

That was episode 1589 from the "Nighttime" week. The visitor in Make Believe was Yo-Yo LaBelle. He also appeared in episode 1590 when he had to leave to go back to his star in the nighttime sky. Here's the link for an episode description if you want to confirm it.
