Why didn't Don Ho ever appear on this show?

To a lot of mainlanders, Don Ho was the face of Hawaii and an icon. He appeared as a character or in a cameo role in most tv series that shot episodes in Hawaii except Five-O. Does anyone know why this didn't happen?

Obviously you can't have anyone guest staring having Don on was not a bad idea.

The Brady Bunch debuted a year later and he was certainly in the episode where they went to Hawaii.

Why could Hawaii Five-O NOT have Anyone Guest-star? Do you even know what you are typing...Or you just need something to do?
(They had guest-stars All Of The Time!!!)

It would be too distracting and on-the-nose. They made the right choice. This was a show which dealt with gritty crime stories. There was no room for celebrity sightings or cameos.

That's why the new Five-0 sucks - they're too busy casting celebrities (P. Diddy, Jonas Brothers, Nick Lachey, Carol Burnett, etc.) instead of focusing on good stories.

Connery, Moore, and Brosnan! Accept NO substitutes!
