IMDB message boards are being discontinued

Does anyone know if once the boards are closed, they will still be available for read-only access? There are limits as to how far back comments go, though, and they seem to have the place set up so that it is not archived in the Wayback Machine at http://www.archive.org, for example.

Doubtful. Their announcement stated:

we announced our decision to disable our message boards on February 3, 2017 but will leave them open for two additional weeks so that users will have ample time to archive any message board content they'd like to keep for personal use.

So it sounds like they are going to delete everything. Maybe not immediately, but soon after February 20th it will probably all be gone.

Alpha, didn't you archive some of your postings about "best of" the seasons somewhere else on IMDB? I hope that those will not be eliminated as well. Maybe you can run links to those by us. I would like to make note of them myself.

If anyone is interested, I have a Discussion Forum on my Five-O/Zero site which has been going off and on for about 20 years. In fact, the original Guestbook for my site started in June 1997!

Of course there's always Mr. Mike's site. But I guess that wouldn't be according to IMDB users but according to Mike's users.

Although I don't necessarily agree with all those choices, I think that list is a valid result.
