You are sleeping on comedic (because its 2020) quality drama if you've never watched this show.

Don't get me wrong.
This is a great show and very well acted.
Very entertaining even for the level of shows we have today.

but........................

every once in a while, we have to deal with the youth being on that stuff and the way it's carried out just makes me laugh.
Mind you not as bad as Dragnet, which really every episode is about teenagers on dope, but just as funny.

One thing that amuses me about this show is everybody they need to talk to is always just standing out on the street while they drive by.

The way the drugs are handled on this show is definitely hilarious. The tweaker criminals are always totally unhinged lunatics.

Reduce production costs. Not unlike I Love Lucy where the streets of NYC are vacant except for the characters in the scene.

I think the beauty/genius/craft/whatever of Adam 12 and Dragnet is how they can be reinterpreted on any era and still entertain.
