Anyone Remember Episode With Comic Book Burned?

I THINK it was Adam-12. They got a domestic call. A wife had thrown her husband's valuable comic book in the fireplace. As I recall it was a first Superman. Ring a bell with anyone?

I don't think that was 'A-12.'

Sounds more like 'Hill Street Blues' or 'High Incident,' but I don't know for sure.

There was one where the neighborhood kids or the man's son threw valuable comic books in the neighbor's yard and she was ready to throw them out.

Lawson - any idea what ep that was? I am always curious about tv shows/movies that have even a small bit about comic books in them.

It was either Adam-12 or Dragnet 1967. But am betting Adam-12 based on my age when I saw it (20s). Hill Street and High Incident came much later.

It was Adam 12. That episode has aired in the last few weeks.

I believe that episode is Pot Shot in Jan 75.

reply

Yes it was Pot Shot. They go on the comic book call right after they drop off the lost Finnish girl at her Aunt's house. A man comes running over to complain that his neighbor is about to burn his valuable comic book collection. Malloy and Reed learn that the man's boys had thrown the comic books onto the lady's driveway along with some rotten tomatoes. She's had enough of the boy's vandalizing/trashing her property so to retaliate, she decides to burn the comic books. Fortunately Malloy and Reed manage to resolve the situation to everyone's satisfaction and Reed didn't have to resort to his patented flying tackle to wrap up matters.

Patented flying tackle, that gave me a chuckle. ©Flying tackle, Jim Reed 1968.

Sorry to be late in replying but POT SHOT looks like the one. I remember watching it first run. Funny how the memory blurs the details over the years!
