I'm not familiar with the scene in question, but I think some of the shows of this era were very generous with people's ages. (Dragnet, Adam-12, Emergency, etc.) Characters whose ages are given as 30-something when they're clearly 50-something... or in this case characters whose ages are given as 50 something when they're clearly 70-something.
