Excuse me, but the link you've posted, doesn't bring to a dvd sell of the movie.

Does anyone have any news about a possible release on dvd?

No, you're right. It simply gives them a chance to tell us if and/or when there could be a DVD sale of the movie.

I can't believe this is not out on DVD. With all the other Hollywood crap the studios release it's a shame this classic is still not available. It would be nice to see it Widescreen with some commentary. Unfortunately Sandy Dennis has passed away as it would be great to hear her comment on this great film. Oh well, at least I still have a VHS copy to watch.

You are absolutely correct! When "Up the Down Staircase" was originally in the movie theatres I saw it. Now that I am a retired teacher in New York City's Public School system I purchased it on VHS and really appreciated it more than I had years ago. However, I really missed watching bonus features that I would have been able to view if this film were available on DVD. These include commentary,the making of the movie and deleted scenes. The commentary could be supplied by one of the actors who is still living. Many mediocre movies have been released as DVD's. This particular film would really sell millions of copies if it came out on a disc.

Warner has announced at the chat at the home theater forum on feb 26 that they are releasing UP THE DOWN STAIRCASE before fall.Nov 6.

Wow I have been waiting for this for years! I look forward to seeing it in WIDESCREEN! Sandy Dennis is one of my all time favorite actresses -- now only if they could release "That Cold Day in the Park" on DVD.
