Just saw it last evening ...

A cute romp through the sixties ... such a glorious time ... sort of the peace before the storm. Everything produced then had a mystique about it, but could Audrey have been any THINNER?

I mean, I'm all for fit and trim, but that gal needed a MEAL more than a mate. Her bathing suit scenes were almost ghastly. Finney on the other hand never looked better, having later gone in the opposite direction in a rather big way.

I won't buy the DVD. Once was enough for me.

I just saw this film and I'm listening to director Stanley Donen's comments right now, and am not surprised to learn that this was Audrey's first film wearing regular, store-bought clothes. She was usually custom fit for every single costume by some couturier (sp?)who could camoflauge her extreme long-limbed skinniness. I agree that she really does look scrawny to the point of scariness in this film. But that made her all the more endearing to me.

She had the choice of gaining muscle or having fat hanging off of her somewhere. She had a very small frame and therefore looked tiny like that Ally McBeal character. I say weight training would be better than extra fat.
