It's more than the narrative that's in common. There's the hip Euro jet set party, station wagon with luggage on the rooftop, the little girl Ruthie, the wonderful Mancini-esque soundtrack, the glider scene shot in the same way, and the ending scene with the cars and the roudabout (even with the cars splitting in two and driving down both fork lanes.)
Purely enchanting.
