When I think of the crap that's made now for that genre. I give it 5 stars. It stills holds up! Ben Stiller, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Anniston, Owen Wilson, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Diane Lane, Luke Wilson, Cathererine Zeta-Jones,Hugh Grant...all forgettable in their so called rom-coms!

I agree, partially because, at first glance, it isn't comedic at all. It really seems like a tragic comedy on toxic relationships. However, the subtle humor has a great way of poking through. It doesn't set up a joke. It doesn't rely merely on gags to get a cheap laugh. It's very real, and that's part of why it's both funny and poignant. This is what other romantic comedies should aspire to.
