I can't really remember much about "Revolutionary Road" as I saw it when it first opened, but the cracking of a marriage through non-linear progression happens in "Revolutionary Road", does it not? I can't remember about the non-linear part, however if this is so, surely it's just the Americanized version of this?

Revolutionary Road was written 5 years before this movie.

He might be referring to the remake which came out in 2008, and might have only seen that and not known of an original?
Blasphemy considering everything is remade these days ;)

He was referring to Richard Yates' novel, which was adapted into the 2008 film you lunkhead.
